Cottontail Ranch is located in the Santa Clarita, California on over 200acres in The Santa Monica Mountains and just 5 miles from Castaic Lake. At Cottontail we focus on children's development through friendship, responsibility through choice, and independent living skills. Our unique location allows us to offer the best of both land and water activities. Campers have an opportunity to begin or build on their skills in a variety of activities. 6, 7 and 8 year olds. We have created a special program just for our youngest campers, a program to ease them from a day camp or school setting into the overnight camping experience. We have planned out a two-week program where the campers will be exposed to all of our activities with more emphasis on those where they will experience more success. The program will place a high importance on making friends, developing social and recreational skills, and building self-esteem. Campers age 9 - 16 are able to choose each day from all of activities based on their preferences and abilities. With upto five activities each day campers can choose either to sample a variety of activities, choose one all day activity (such as wakeboarding/paddleboarding) or focus on a couple of favorites. Our sign ups are based on a rotating priority system so that our the group sizes are evenly dispersed. Rather than placing campers in activities based on age, they sign up based on their interests and their level of ability!
