    SUMMER HOCKEY CAMPS

Teen Ranch has been conducting one of the best hockey programs for kids and adults since 1971. Since 1994 we have had the benefit of training in our own olympic size arena on our beautiful 150 acre property.  Power skating is a premium skill we stress using both on and off-ice drills contributing to the camper’s development.  Excellent nutrition will ensure our campers will have maximum opportunity for development.  You may call our year-round resident instructors, Jim Ensom and Tim Stevens to help you determine which is the program suited to your needs. During summer camps, they are joined by Corey Neilson, a 10 year pro, playing coach and certified personal trainer. Our past guest instructors include Mike Gartner, Laurie Boschman, Paul Henderson, Ron Ellis, Mike Murphy, John Paddock, Doug Jarvis and Cheryl Pounder (Canadian National Women’s Team). Goalie coaches have included Dan Ellis (Nashville Predators) and Mike Binnie (Liberty University).  Olympians and World Champion figure skaters Barb Underhill and Paul Martini have assisted our skaters as well.  At this time we cannot quarantee that all of these guest instructors will attend this year.  Off-ice recreational actvities that campers in all programs can enjoy in their free time are: • Horseback riding • Giant Swing • Basketball • Swimming • Climbing wall • Jousting • Campfires and many more.

    HI -PERFORMANCE CAMPS

If you work hard, you’ll have the opportunity to improve your skills so hockey will be much more fun. This program can help you to move up to the next level. This is a program for players who want skill development, individual attention and lots of skating.  It’s a high quality program with great drills and fun scrimmages. The off-ice program will concentrate on recreational activities like soccer, basketball, etc. 15+ hours of ice time for the week.

    GIRL’S CAMP

“Teen Ranch Hockey” was one of the early programs for girls long before girls’ hockey “took off”.  Because of our great program and beautiful facilities, nutritious menu and dedicated staff, Canada’s Olympic Gold medal team, Ontario Women’s Hockey Association teams and many national women’s teams from around the world (Russia, Finland, Germany and Switzerland) have opted to make Teen Ranch a favourite training centre .  We have incorporated those same areas of excellence into our girls’ programs. You will be amazed at the progress in skating, puck handling, shooting skills and positional play in even a week…and to top it off you will have the opportunity to ride horses and take part in all the other camp activities. 15+ hours of ice time per week. NOTE: Girls are welcome to register in all hockey programs.

    ELITE CAMP

    FOR REP LEVEL PLAYERS ONLY

We turn it up several notches and push you to help discover how good you can be. It’s higher tempo in all drills and scrimmages with people who are on your level of ability.  Challenging off-ice conditioning is developed by our professional personal fitness trainers. We will concentrate on all aspects of your individual skills and your skating will be analysed with the use of video. We’ll cover defensive and offensive tactics and body-checking techniques.  We’ll help you be serious about your development and you’ll enjoy the balanced fun activities at Teen Ranch.  16+ hours of ice time per week and five hours off-ice conditioning.  Core trength, plyometrics, aerobic, anaerobic workouts and body weight strength training are a part of the schedule for the HI PERFORMANCE and ELITE programs. Weight training supervised by professional personal trainers is an available option.

    HORSEMANSHIP PROGRAMS

If you love horses or think you might…you’ll love Teen Ranch!

Our multi-level program is associated with the CHA, an international organization dedicated to excellence in instruction, safety and skill development in young riders. Teen Ranch is established in the horse industry as a centre for equestrian excellence. Instructors are trained with CHA.  We have hosted top competitions for the American Quarter Horse Association, the Trillium Circuit of the Ontario Equestrian Federation and the Calf Roping and Rodeo Association of Ontario. Graduates of our horsemanship program have become leading professionals in the Canadian horse industry.

The horses at Teen Ranch are extremely quiet and are top quality in their training and behaviour.  Many of our horses are used in competition as well as our riding school.

    WESTERN HORSEMANSHIP

Western camps are offered for all levels of experience from beginner to advanced. Lesson topics range from learning basic position and control to lateral movement, complicated patterns and games & speed classes.  Western is often more comfortable and easier to ride for beginner riders, especially those who may be a little nervous.

    ENGLISH HORSEMANSHIP

Our highly praised English program is for riders of all levels as well. Our beginner riders start with the basics of position while the advanced riders will be pushed to perfect their jumping, equitation and effectiveness on horseback.  Competitive or Advanced Riders may also be interested in the Intensive Equestrian Program.

    INTENSIVE EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM

Looking to improve your success in the show ring? This program offers instruction to perfect the working hunter, hunter under saddle and equitation classes. With the skills you learn, you can return to your barn a neater, more effective rider. Unmounted lessons in the afternoon expand your knowledge and improve professionalism.  Corrie Ensom, a Master Instructor and Clinic Instructor with the CHA has had great success training and showing hunters on the Trillium, ‘A’, and Quarter Horse Circuits. Come and gain from her expertise at Teen Ranch! Campers stay an extra day to compete in a schooling show on Sunday – entry fees for one division are included.  You must qualify for this program...see website for more details.  CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO BE BETTER!
