Description:
YMCA Camp Chauncey Ranch strives to add camp fun and character development with equestrian skills for a special program. Weekly camp sessions are for boys and girls ages 9-16. Activities include: paintball, ropes course, zip line, climbing tower, canoeing & fishing on Chauncey Lake, swimming in the pool, archery, trap & skeet shooting, crafts and much more. The 2 week Cowboy Camp program focuses on teaching various skills and spending 6 hours per day with horses in ring riding, trail rides and a Rodeo at the end of the week.
At an elevation of 4,450 feet, Chauncey Ranch is one hour from Phoenix. This 5000-acre ranch on the Agua Fria river has close to 100 horses, 50 head of cattle, a few goats and enough bunks for 150 “ranch hands.” The Ranch has cottonwood trees, willows, green pastures, sports field, a NEW two-acre lake for canoeing and fishing, riding arenas and barns. Eleven enclosed cabins complete with evaporative coolers and built-in bunks ensure your campers’ comfort. Modern restroom/shower facilities serve each of the boys’ and girls’ sides of camp. Horses and riding lessons are the main event at Chauncey Ranch. Every camper will receive the basic rider safety instruction followed by a one-hour trail ride.
